- Power Generating Stations require technically trained manpower for project planning, implementation, erection, commissioning, testing, O&M including transmission and distribution of power.
- No formal studies available in educational institutions can equip a person with knowledge of different inputs required for the job performance in Power Sector.
- Special training becomes necessary for personnel at every level in the industry to keep abreast with rapidly advancing state-of- the-art in the power industry.
- Power is basic to national development and industrialization, thus making it imperative to have optimum efficiency.
NPTI (ER), Durgapur conducts many long term as well as, medium and short term courses on Power Plant Engineering and its related subjects where different individuals or power utilities send their nominated personnel for attending such specialized courses. It has regularly conducted programs for various private as well as central/state public sector power generation/transmission and distribution organization including transnational trainees from Nepal / Bhutan. The detailed programmes are intimated to different power utilities from time to time by annual training calendar.
Apart from the announced training program, NPTI-ER conducts tailor-made programs as per the training need / requirement of the power sector organization either at institute premises or at customer’s site.
